Howell Public Schools Hires New Middle School Student Services Advisor

8/24/17 – Howell Public Schools is pleased to announce that Nathan Aquilina has been selected as the district’s new middle school student services advisor. As the middle school student services advisor Aquilina will facilitate and support activities and services to improve the culture and climate of the school, address safety and security, and provide positive behavior and crisis intervention programs. He will also work closely and collaboratively with administration, staff and parents to meet the needs of all students who are dealing with truancy or disciplinary issues. Aquilina will split his time between Highlander Way Middle School and Parker Middle School.


“We are very excited to have Mr. Aquilina join the middle school team. Mrs. Poelke, the Parker Middle School principal and I were very impressed with his work experiences and educational background,” said Melanie Post, Highlander Way Middle School principal. “We know that Mr. Aquilina will be a wonderful addition to both Highlander Way and Parker.”


“I look forward to serving the students of Howell Public Schools as the new middle school student services advisor,” said Aquilina. “I am dedicated to enhancing the academic, social and emotional well-being of our students.”


Aquilina comes to Howell from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School where he served as an associate principal. He has also worked as a dean of students, and an elementary school teacher. Aquilina holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Grand Valley State University and a Master of Arts in K-12 Educational Administration from Michigan State University.
